2024 SIU System Technology & Innovation Expo

Innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs from across the Southern Illinois University System are joining forces for an event that brings together research and enterprise on Dec. 5: the 2024 SIU Technology and Innovation Expo (TIE). 2025 Dr. Alonzo Kenniebrew Lecture

The Annual Alonzo Homer Kenniebrew, MD Lecture discusses health disparities and other factors that impact population health. It commemorates the life of a groundbreaking central Illinois physician; Dr. Alonzo H. Kenniewbrew, native of Warrior’s Point, Alabama and physician in Jacksonville, Evanston, and Springfield, Illinois. Dr. Kenniebrew was the first African-American physician in the United States to build and operate a surgical hospital, the New Home Sanitarium in Jacksonville, Illinois, established in 1909. At its peak, in the 1920s, New Home had 67 rooms, three laboratories, three

The 2025 Rural Mental Health Summit will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the Agricenter in Bloomington, IL. The two-day symposium offered trainees in Springfield and Carbondale an opportunity to gain experience in making formal presentations of their research and clinical discoveries. Faculty mentors provided assistance for each project.
