Sleep for Stroke Management and Recovery Trial

The primary goals of this study are to determine whether treatment of obstructive sleep apnea with positive airway pressure starting shortly after accute ischemic stroke or high risk TIA (1) reduces recurrent stroke, acute coronary syndrome, and all-cause mortality 6 months after the event and (2) improves stroke outcomes at 3 months in patients who experienced ischemic stroke.

The purpose of this clinical trial is to assess whether a medical device called the TIVUS System can lower high blood pressure in patients who are known to have hypertension. 

Eligible patients include those who currently have a diagnosis of high blood pressure despite having taken or currently taking anti-hypertensive medications.
