Camp COCO Golf Outing Set for June 7

SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS – SIU Medicine invites golfers to form teams for the annual charity golf outing benefiting the Camp COCO Children’s Cancer Fund. A shotgun start will begin the game at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 7, at The Rail Golf Course, 1400 S. Club House Dr., Springfield. H.D. Smith is the presenting sponsor of the four-person scramble. HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital is a double eagle sponsor. Eagle sponsors are Bunn and LRS. Simmons Cancer Institute to Host HPV Roundtable for Parents

Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU Medicine will host “The ABC’s of HPV” at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 21. The roundtable discussion will provide parents and guardians with an opportunity to discuss human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccinations with medical professionals from Southern Illinois University Medicine. Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Curriculum

Obstetric & Gynecology Residency Rotations Obstetrics Residents manage all aspects of obstetrical care including antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum evaluation and management. There is in-house faculty available 24 hours a day in charge of supervision. Residents attend all vaginal and cesarean deliveries while on the floor. Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training program at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is part of a combined General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) 5-year integrated program. Applicants will typically apply right out of medical school and commit to doing both general psychiatry and CAP at the same program. The first 3 years of the program will be mostly adult psychiatry with a few CAP rotations intermixed. During the internship year the experiences will be in pediatrics and family medicine. This type of program is often referred to as a “Child Track”
