SIU Urology Welcomes Dr. M Francesca Monn

SIU Urology welcomes Dr. M Francesca Monn.  Dr. Monn is an Assistant Professor of Urology at SIU Medicine. She is a fellowship-trained Reconstructive Urologist and is passionate about treating urethral and ureteral strictures, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, neurogenic bladder, and genital anomalies.

Dr. Monn earned her medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. She received a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health where she received concentrations in Surgical Trials and Outcomes Research and Health as a Human Right.  She completed her Urology residency at Indiana University School of Medicine and subsequently pursued a fellowship in Reconstructive Urology at the Devine-Jordan Center for Advanced Reconstructive Surgery and Pelvic Health at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA.

Dr. Monn has authored over 70 peer-reviewed articles and has presented her research at regional, national, and international conferences. She continues to be actively engaged in the urologic research community and is particularly interested in research involving urethral stricture disease, ureteral stricture disease, neurogenic bladder, and disparities in access to care
