Dr. Kathy Swafford to Receive Excellence Award

September 17 -- Dr. Kathy Swafford, director of SIU's Children's Medical and Mental Health Resources Network, has earned a "Rural Physician of Excellence" award from the Illinois Rural Health Association.

The association said Swafford was chosen because she has "gone up and beyond the call of duty to make an impact on children and families across Southern Illinois."
