Teaching and Learning in Medicine (TLM) is an international, peer-reviewed forum for scholarly investigation of teaching and learning in medical education. Its mission is to advance the knowledge, understanding, and decision making capacity of medical educators through the dissemination of the highest levels of scholarship. The journal’s international scope acknowledges the common challenge faced by all medical teachers—fostering the acquisition, application, and maintenance of knowledge and skills in a complex and constantly changing clinical environment—and that a foundation of theory, research, and scholarship is necessary to meet this challenge. The journal’s articles address practical issues in the conduct of instruction as well as issues basic to educational science and provide the analysis needed to facilitate decision making by administrators, teachers, and learners. TLM ’s scope includes all levels of medical education, from premedical to postgraduate and continuing medical education.
