Sports Medicine Fellowship Mission
We are committed to fostering the next generation of well-rounded, compassionate sports medicine physicians grounded in the principles of primary care.
Where primary care takes the field
We are dedicated to providing exceptional, team-based musculoskeletal and medical care for active individuals of all ages in West Central Illinois. Through a strong emphasis on education, we support and engage medical learners at all levels – students, residents, and fellows – while cultivating collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure both high-quality patient care and meaningful educational experiences.
We are guided by the following core values:
- Primary Care Foundation
We uphold the principles of holistic, patient-centered care, drawing on the breadth of primary care to treat the whole person, not just the injury. - Excellence in Education
We are committed to nurturing medical learners at all levels through hands-on mentorship, inclusive teaching environments, and a dedication to academic growth. - Collaborative Practice
We believe in the power of interdisciplinary teamwork, partnering with athletic trainers, physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care and enrich the educational experience. - Community Engagement
We aim to serve and connect with our local and regional communities by promoting physical activity, wellness, and injury prevention across all populations. - Professionalism and Integrity
We model the highest standards of ethics, respect, and responsibility in both clinical care and medical education. - Lifelong Learning
We foster a spirit of curiosity, humility, and adaptability in a constantly evolving field.
Vision
To be a leading training ground for future primary care sports medicine physicians who integrate clinical excellence, collaborative care, and a lifelong passion for teaching and learning—ultimately improving the health and performance of our patients and communities.
