‘COVID Stories’ Staged Reading

Members of the community, the medical school and the University of Illinois Springfield will retell "COVID Stories" during a staged reading in the South Auditorium, 801 N. Rutledge. SIU’s Hope Cherry and UIS Theatre’s Professor Missy Thibodeaux-Thompson have collaborated with university staff, faculty and students, as well as Springfield-area residents to present narratives collected from within our communities. At the conclusion, a talk-back forum will be mediated by trauma-informed specialists from UIS and SIU School of Medicine. Desserts will be served in the Pearson Museum after the

SIU's Pelvic Wellness Center gets patient off the sidelines

When you’re a referee, you’re trained to keep your eye on the ball. For Jackie Slayback of Heyworth, Ill., that focus shifted from the court to her own body as she struggled with pelvic discomfort that affected her daily routine and confidence. Then Jackie found support from the team at SIU Medicine's Pelvic Wellness Center. Now she feels empowered and grateful to have her quality of life back.
