Hand surgery research grant awarded to plastic surgery, orthopedic divisions

The Division of Orthopedic Surgery and Institute for Plastic Surgery have been awarded the J. Leonard Goldner Pioneer Research Award for their grant proposal: “LGR+ Stem Cells Augment Osteogenesis on Bone Defect Scaffolds.” The grant was a collaborative effort by Austin Beason, MD (Orthopedic Surgery, PGY-3), Carrie Harrison and Michelle Randle (both from the Plastic Surgery Research Laboratory), and Jacob Franke (third-year medical student). Michael Neumeister, MD (Professor and Chair, Department of Surgery) is overseeing the project and serving as the Principal Investigator. This award is
