Message from the Program Director

Thank you for your interest in the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship program at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Our program received accreditation from the ACGME to commence training three fellows a year, starting July 2019.

SIU has a rich tradition of academic excellence and innovation which we intend to continue with the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship. We have an excellent faculty with diverse backgrounds who are dedicated to providing comprehensive training in evidence-based cardiac care. Our goal is to provide a training experience which keeps the trainees and their interests in mind. Our fellows will rotate in all cardiology subspecialties at the Memorial Medical Center and at the SIU Clinics in Springfield, IL. In the spirit of the mission of SIU, the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship aims to enhance the healthcare of the people of central and southern Illinois through education, service and scholarship. We are very excited to start this journey. Please browse through our website to find out more about our program. We welcome formal applications to our program through ERAS.
