Please note: This information is subject to change. All applicants must meet the admission requirements of SIU Graduate School. Applicants to the 26-month, 7-semester Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPA) Program must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by the time of matriculation to the graduate PA Program. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and must have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours of coursework (including all prerequisite courses) in a U.S. regionally accredited, degree-granting college/university. Residency Training Objectives

The objective of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals is to provide residents with the educational opportunity to become fully competent in the practice and principles of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This plan provides the framework for residents to develop competence as primary care providers and consultants in diseases common to women. Friday Mornings Every Friday morning residents attend educational activities. This time is protected. M&M/Pre-op Conferences Presented by Residents. Alternates between M & M and Pre-op conferences every week Grand Rounds Weekly lectures by faculty that are based on educational curriculum. Presented by residents once a month. SIU Med Students Meet Their Match

Senior medical students in the graduating Class of 2017 at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine received results from the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) on Friday, March 17, at the same time other U.S. medical students learned their matches to postgraduate training programs. Sixty-two SIU seniors have secured residency positions. Eleven students (18%) will begin residency training in internal medicine. Ten students (16%) will enter pediatrics, nine (15%) will enter family medicine, seven (11%) will enter emergency medicine and five (8%) will specialize in psychiatry
