Obstetrics & Gynecology Education

The SIU OBGYN residency program is fully ACGME accredited without citations to train 4 residents per year. Training in primary, specialty and subspecialty care is integrated throughout all four years of the residency. In the first year of training, emphasis is placed on general obstetrics and gynecology and primary care. During the second through fourth years, residents rotate through and manage the subspecialty services as well as play an active role in the education, supervision and evaluation of junior residents and students. Please be advised that students accepted into the SIU School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program incur higher tuition rates than other SIU graduate students. Tuition rates are established by the SIU Board of Trustees and are competitive with other physician assistant programs. Students accepted into the PA Program will have expenses in addition to the university’s tuition and fees. How to apply

Instructions Complete a PA Program application using CASPA . Have earned Grade Point Averages (GPA) of 3.4 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher, on the following: overall coursework and science coursework. CASPA calculates these two GPAs. Have an earned GPA of 3.4 or higher on program prerequisites as calculated by SIU. Complete required prerequisite coursework by the end of the Fall term prior to matriculation with a grade of "B" or higher.
