New study supports hormone replacement therapy in early menopause

A recent study published in JAMA finds that the benefits of hormone replacement therapy for menopausal symptoms outweigh the risks for most women under age 60. It's good news for women who suffer from hot flashes, insomnia and other related problems.

The Springfield Business Journal celebrates 40 young professionals under 40 in our local community each year. As part of the 2024 class, SIU Medicine’s Dr. Clare Zimmerman and Dr. Aida Adlimoghaddam have been honored for their outstanding contributions. Aida Adlimoghaddam, PhD, joined SIU Medicine as an assistant professor at the Smith Alzheimer's Center in 2023. Previously, she served St. Boniface Hospital Research Centre in Winnipeg, Canada as a senior research associate and clinical scientist.
