Kenniebrew events on February 8-9 to encourage health equity

Each February, SIU hosts a series of events to honor Dr. Alonzo Kenniebrew, the first Black physician in the United States to build and operate a private surgical hospital. This year, one of the gatherings is being renamed to honor the late Dr. Wesley Robinson-McNeese.

The Brain Aging Conference - Professionals Day provides health care professionals an opportunity to earn continuing education credits and learn about trends and research related to caring for those with Alzheimer’s and related disorders. From an overview about Alzheimer's, managing agitation and behavior changes, updates on research opportunities, and more, this conference is designed to help you provide better treatment and care for persons with memory loss and their caregivers. This conference is approved for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 credits.

Dr. Kulacz awarded Golden Apple

Congratulations to Dr. Jeremy Kulacz , assistant professor of neurology, who has been selected for the 2024 Golden Apple Award. Each year, the graduating class at SIU School of Medicine bestows the honor to a faculty member for providing the most outstanding education during their training. Dr. Kulacz earned his undergraduate degree at Illinois State University and his doctorate at SIU School of Medicine. He pursued a residency in adult neurology at Brown University Warren Alpert Medical School in Providence, RI, and completed a fellowship in vascular neurology at Rush University Medical

About this program This program is for experienced doulas. The SIU School of Medicine’s Office of Certification Strategies manages the approval process for experienced doulas who qualify through either the Training Program Pathway or the Legacy Pathway This is part of the Illinois Medicaid-Certified Doula initiative. Important: This is not a doula training program. This program does not teach doula skills.
