The Medical Library recently purchased several books for a new Graphic Medicine collection. A growing trend in medical literature, “Graphic Medicine” refers to “the intersection between the medium of comics and the discourse of healthcare.“ The collection contains graphic narratives that explore illness and other health topics from both the practitioner and patient perspective. Brain Awareness Day at Franklin MS

Faculty and students from the Department of Pharmacology presented Brain Awareness Day at Franklin Middle School on March 12. The Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives and SIU HEAL Scholarship supported this year’s outreach project that engages 7th and 8th graders through hands-on activities, games, presentations and a dissection. SIU partners with UM on major economic development portal
