Neurology Resident Clinics

Neurology Residents' Clinic

The Neurology Clinic is located on the 3rd Floor of the SIU Clinic’s Building, (Moy Building) 751 N. Rutledge, Room 3100.

Continuity Clinics are held one half-day per week.

Residents usually see 2 new patients and 4 or 5 follow up patients in each clinic.  The combination changes as needed to accommodate the residents’ patient populations.

Clinics should not be cancelled
Residents are expected to cover each other’s clinic as needed for vacations, interviews, etc.

Exceptions:  If a resident is attending The American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting, sitting for the annual Resident In-service Training Exam (RITE), and for all SIU-designated holidays.

Patients with urgent medical problems are to be evaluated in the Neurology clinic by the Chief Resident at the designated time each day.  In the absence of the Chief Resident, the attending physician on 1st call will see the patients.

Residents follow all patients they see in clinic from their PGY-2 year of training through thir PGY-4.  Graduating residents’ patients will be re-distributed among residents still in training.

Patients evaluated by a resident on the inpatient service will follow up with that resident in their respective clinic.
