MBBS Graduate Program Interdisciplinary Rotations

The Interdisciplinary Rotation is designed for students who have not decided which field of study they want to pursue for their graduate degree. This option allows high-achieving students the opportunity to explore multiple areas of research before choosing a Concentration to pursue a thesis MS or PhD degree. In the application, students can select the Carbondale campus for the Anatomy & Neurobiology; Biochemistry & Molecular Biology; and Molecular & Integrative Physiology Concentrations, or the Springfield campus for the Cell Biology, Immunology & Cancer Biology and Pharmacology &

MBBS Graduate Program financial assistance

The MBBS Graduate Program offers financial assistance to graduate students through assistantships that include a stipend and a tuition waiver. Research assistantships are the most common, but some Concentrations offer Teaching assistantships. SIU also awards Fellowships on a competitive basis. Financial assistance depends on availability, the student’s qualifications and their academic status. MBBS Graduate Program application and admissions

The minimum requirement for admission to the MBBS Graduate Program is an undergraduate degree in a biological, chemical or physical science, For thesis MS and PhD applicants a cumulative GPA of 2.7 during the BA/BS degree and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in any graduate coursework is required. Requirements for the non-thesis MS in Biomedical Science can be found here .
