Intentional community outreach first step in addressing issue Despite having an increased prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, Black women often face barriers to health care, leading to delayed diagnosis and access to treatment. A recent article from the Dale and Deborah Smith Center for Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment illustrates how Black women in particular are at a vulnerable crossroads.
