Colorectal Fit-Kit Distribution

Colorectal at-home cancer screening kit distribution. Use our easy "drive-thru" to pick up your free colorectal screening kit. Enter the drive and stay in your vehicle. We will bring your kit to you. The kit contains instructions and supplies for participants to collect a stool sample. Return completed kits via a postage-paid envelope. Test results will be sent by mail in three to four weeks. *Kits will be available while supplies last and must be returned within 10 days of pickup.

Colorectal screening kits giveaway

Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU Medicine is distributing no-cost colorectal cancer screening kits that area residents can use in the privacy of their homes. A drive-thru give-away will be held on Wednesday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the lunchtime crowd, and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the evening crowd. Participants can pull into the circle drive located at 315 West Carpenter Street and remain in their vehicle while a kit is brought to them. Each person is allowed one kit and the kit's return shipping will be sponsored so there's no cost to the patient. Kits must be returned within 10 days

Join us for the inaugural SIU Medicine Community Engagement Awards and a fashion event presented by Alliance for Women in Medicine and Science (AWIMS). Funds will benefit a local charity that highlights the 2024 AWIMS focus of the year. AWIMS' community service mission is to provide a supportive forum to promote honest discussion and positive change for gender equity, career advancement, work-life balance and community engagement and to champion the development and promotion of women. Community Conversation: Journey Through the Health Care System

The Smith Alzheimer's Center at SIU Medicine is partnering with Tina Montgomery and local organizations to dive deeper into critical topics regarding Alzheimer's and dementia, which disproportionately affect African-American communities. This series is intended to spark conversation and help educate the community about different topics surrounding dementia and is led by topic experts.
