Description
Under direction and assistance of mentor and laboratory staff, the candidate will perform experiments, analyze data resulting from experiments, and prepare necessary data for reports for laboratory meetings.
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled as a college student. If appointment is to be made during the summer months, individual must show transcript or grade slip verification that they are/were enrolled during the Spring semester immediately prior to the appointment (a student ID is not sufficient); AND
- Must have successfully completed no less than 30 semester hours of college coursework, with at least one course in the field of science or biology with related laboratory training; AND
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Medical Office Specialist
Springfield - Cancer Institute Clinic
Description
The person in this position performs functions related to the daily operations of the Simmons Cancer Institute. The individual is expected to work independently in a variety of appointment skillsets, but also functions as a lead worker in the absence of the Medical Office Coordinator. The incumbent assists training staff, maintaining protocols, and developing and implementing procedures.
Qualifications
- Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months), from the categories below:
- College education with coursework in a medical or para-medical field such as nursing assistant, medical assistant, or medical secretary and/or business fields such as business, finance, computer science, public administration, or social science, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equal one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Work experience comparable to that performed at the Medical Office Associate level or in other positions of comparable responsibility.
- College education with coursework in a medical or para-medical field such as nursing assistant, medical assistant, or medical secretary and/or business fields such as business, finance, computer science, public administration, or social science, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
Certified Nurse Practitioner
Springfield - Cancer Institute Clinic
Description
Participate as a full-time physician extender in the Division of Hematology/Oncology and in departmental and medical school activities.
Qualifications
- Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations;
- Gradudation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program;
- Current national nurse practitioner certification that includes completion of an examination recognized by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation;
- Current Illinois Advanced Practice Nurse license.
