Participants must be first author, and the work must have been conducted under the guidance of an SIU faculty member. A subcommittee will review each abstract and assign an oral or a poster presentation to the trainee. Further information and directions are available on the ADR website. Wednesday, April 15, 2020, 8 a.m. Springfield Campus Medical students, residents, and clinical fellows are invited to submit abstracts for presentation at the 2020 Trainee Research Symposium. On Nov. 21, SIU School of Medicine hosted the 2019 Leadership Springfield class for a morning of education and leadership in health care. Thirty-two guests from business, government, nonprofit organizations and the community toured the campus, gaining a deeper understanding of the medical district’s economic impact and specifically, the school’s mission to train physicians and enhance regional health. Presenters included: • Dr. John Mellinger , Vice Chair of Surgery, SIU School of Medicine • Ed Curtis, President and CEO, Memorial Health System • E.J. Kuiper, President and CEO, HSHS St. John’s
