PSP in Clerkship Rotations In Y3, the Education team works to integrate Health Systems Science (HSS) topics into clinical clerkships to increase recognition of HSS curriculum in clinical settings, thus helping students make connections between preclinical and clinical experiences. Simmons Cancer Institute Now Accepting Summer Internship Applications

Applications for the 2019 summer lab internships at Simmons Cancer Institute (SCI) at Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine are being accepted through March 15, 2019. The cancer institute will award four positions to qualified undergraduate college students who plan a career in medicine or biomedical research with a focus on cancer. The paid internship program, which provides hands-on experience for college undergraduates and are awarded on a competitive basis, began in 2009. American Women Physcians in World War I Exhibit

The Medical Library is currently hosting the American Medical Women's Association's (AMWA) ehxibit "American Women Phyicians in WWI." The exhibit will he on display until March 4th, 2019. Gabriel Corfas, University of Michigan Gabriel Corfas, PhD, is Professor and Associate Chair for Research in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Michigan and Director of the Kresge Hearing Research Institute. His research is focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of neuron-glia interactions and the roles of glia in health and disease with the hope to use this knowledge towards developing treatments for nervous system disorders.
