NIH Adopts Common Forms for Biosketch and Current/Pending Support NIH has announced the adoption of Common Forms for Biographical Sketch (Biosketch) and Current and Pending (Other) Support, effective May 25, 2025, as detailed in NIH Notice NOT-OD-24-163. These forms will be required for all applications and Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPRs). Updates : NIH's adoption of the Common Form for Biographical Sketch and a new Biographical Sketch Supplement originally scheduled for May 25, 2025 is postponed. Continue to use NIH-specific format pages until further notice.

Women in Medicine and Science Professional Development Conference 2019

The Alliance for Women and Medicine and Science and Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion hosted the second annual Women in Medicine and Science Professional Development conference on Friday, June 14 in the MCLI. Dean and Provost Dr. Jerry Kruse kicked off the conference with an uplifting speech on the importance of groups such as AWIMS in an institution. New Elective Course Offering Options

ALL SIU School of Medicine Faculty are invited to submit applications for new Elective courses for inclusion in the Elective Program Catalog. Pathways for medical specialties have been developed by many departments to assist students and their advisors in designing appropriate schedules to prepare them for entry into a residency program in their chosen field. In addition to the Pathways model, the EPC and the Year Four Curriculum Committee approved the requirement for students to take at least 4 weeks of basic science coursework. It can be presented in the laboratory or clinical environment and can extend beyond the “classic eight” (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, behavioral Sciences, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology) to include Ethics, Humanities, Epidemiology, Nutrition, and Biostatistics.
