Patients in central and southern Illinois will now have expanded access to expert kidney care, as SIU Medicine expands its nephrology specialty services. SIU Medicine Nephrology will provide high-quality kidney care, supported by the strength of academic medicine and a team-based approach to treatment. Simmons Cancer Institute will provide free colorectal cancer screening kits to area residents at a drive-thru event from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 4 - 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19.

Colorectal screening kits giveaway

Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU Medicine is distributing no-cost colorectal cancer screening kits that area residents can use in the privacy of their homes. A drive-thru give-away will be held on Wednesday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the lunchtime crowd, and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the evening crowd. Participants can pull into the circle drive located at 315 West Carpenter Street and remain in their vehicle while a kit is brought to them. Each person is allowed one kit and the kit's return shipping will be sponsored so there's no cost to the patient. Kits must be returned within 10 days
