Structure

The structure of the Year 3 neurology clerkship consists of two weeks of inpatient service experiences and outpatient clinic rotations.  The specialty areas in neurology include Alzheimer’s Disease, Epilepsy, Neuro-Oncology, Neuromuscular Medicine, Neuropathology, Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders, and Vascular Neurology, (Stroke). In addition to the adult neurology clinics, students who are interested may request a rotation in pediatric neurology and neurosurgery. During the neurology clerkship, students will be coached to examine neurologic patients skillfully and respectfully. In addition, students will learn to communicate findings, differential diagnoses, lesion localization and patient management effectively and collegially with physician colleagues and other members of the health care team.
