Welcome to the Division of Gastroenterology within the Department of Internal Medicine at SIU Medicine. Our team provides intensive, community-based education for medical students and residents while also providing superior digestive medical care. Our gastroenterologists diagnose and treat patients living with conditions affecting the digestive system, including Barrett’s esophagus, heartburn, pancreatitis, colon cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, gallbladder disease, hepatitis, celiac disease, and pelvic floor dysfunction. Hematology / Oncology

The Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship is a 3-year program within the Simmons Cancer Institute at the SIU School of Medicine. We are an ACGME accredited program for a maximum of nine fellows and accept three fellows each academic year. Simmons Cancer Institute Hematology/Oncology is dedicated to supporting our patients through their cancer journey. At SCI Hematology/Oncology, we practice the “team approach” to cancer care. Family Medicine Residency Program | Alton

Our program is located on the hospital campus of Alton Memorial Hospital, in a brand-new administrative and educational space. Our faculty and resident outpatient clinical practice occurs onsite within the clinical practice of Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation, a FQHC serving vulnerable patients throughout the region. Residents in our program spend the majority of their time in Alton itself, but also benefit from experiences in St. Louis and in rural Illinois communities.
