COVID-19 Testing Sites for October

SIU Medicine will continue regular COVID-19 testing for the Springfield community in October. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, the testing operation will continue to be hosted by Abundant Faith Christian Center located at 2525 Taylor Ave. Mondays: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Tuesdays: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Thursdays: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. On Fridays, the testing operation is hosted by other area congregations. October dates include the following times and locations. October 9: 9:00 a.m. – noon at Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1601 E. Laurel

COVID-19 Update: Personal protective equipment donations needed for health care workers

At the request of HSHS Illinois (including HSHS St. John’s Hospital and HSHS Medical Group), Memorial Health System, Springfield Clinic and SIU Medicine, Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach will start accepting donations from the community related to COVID-19 supply shortages on Wednesday, March 25 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. The donations can include boxed, unused surgical type masks (including N95 masks); clean handmade, sewn masks ; unused, wrapped or boxed gowns and exam gloves; hand sanitizer; bleach wipes and alcohol wipes to help with the national shortage during the COVID-19 outbreak.
