With over 17 clinic locations in central and southern Illinois, you can receive comprehensive, affordable health care near you.

A Federally Qualified Health Center, FQHC, is a community-based health center. We serve everyone.
With federal funding backing our efforts, we are able to provide a range of medical services in your area that are accessible on a sliding-fee scale. Affordable services in your area that are underserved and in need.

The SIU Center for Family Medicine provides affordable, quality health care to all individuals in central and southern Illinois.
A FQHC is not limited to only primary and preventative care. Our board of directors includes patients from your community to help guide what services need to be available in your area. This allows you to access affordable care in:

- Substance use treatment programs
- Mental health and behavioral health services
- Geriatrics and palliative care services
- Nutritional counseling
- Dental care
- And holistic, non-invasive medical services

Central and southern Illinois largest FQHC
We're proud of SIU Medicine Center for Family Medicine being the largest university-owned Federally Qualified Health Center in the country.
Started in 2012 in Springfield, Illinois, the SIU Medicine FQHC has grown to include 17-clinic locations in 2025. Every year with the support of the local communities, the SIU Medicine Center for Family Medicine continues to expand and offer care for families in the area.
