Health Advocacy Scholar Pathway

Welcome

The Health Advocacy Scholar Pathway is an elective program offered through SIU School of Medicine that acknowledges the crucial importance of an integrated commitment of medical students and practitioners who pursue inclusive and bias-free medical education opportunities and make contributions to medical education scholarship and innovation. 

The pathway will provide professional learning in six identified program areas. Completion of the program will result in Health Advocacy Scholar distinction on residency applications (via ERAS) and the MSPE (Dean’s letter) Additionally, students will be recognized with a certificate at graduation.
