ANESTHESIA ROTATION ORIENTATION

ANESTHESIA ROTATION ORIENTATION - MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER Arrive in the operating room suite, lower level E building at 6:45 AM. You will need to wear proper O.R. attire (scrubs) and please wear your name plate. You will be oriented your first day and also tour the O.R. suite. Daily responsibilities will be outlined.. You will be assigned daily preoperative assessments. The daily operating schedule for the next day is usually available around 1-2 PM. Ask an anesthesiologist which preop assessments might be appropriate for you. After completing these, present your ‘cases’ to an anesthesiologist

Helpful Hints and Suggestions Class of 2018 PLEASE take the time to read the Year Four Policies and Procedures and Student Misconceptions. Also review important documents online. Browse through the Electives Catalog (a few times and make a list of the courses that interest you. Make sure you register for enough courses to fulfill graduation requirements. Have your list of choices with you when you meet with your Elective Advisor. The Christmas/New Year weeks (wks 25-26) are not automatic weeks off. MEDPREP 2017 Certificate Ceremony and Banquet celebrates departing MEDPREP students

The 2017 MEDPREP Certficate Ceremony and Banquet, "Keys to Success," was held on April 30, 2017 in the SIUC Student Center Ballrooms. 32 MEDPREP students, who started in the summer of 2015, were honored for their hard work in the program over the past two years. Students in the class gained admission to a total of 22 different dental and medical schools, including the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. After a certificate ceremony featuring words of inspiration by Interim Chancellor Dr. William Bradley Colwell, and SIU School of Medicine Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion
