Simmons Cancer Institute Accepting Summer Internship Applications

Summer research internships will be offered for the ninth year at Simmons Cancer Institute (SCI) at Southern Illinois University (SIU) Medicine. SCI will award four paid positions to qualified undergraduate college students who plan a career in medicine or biomedical research with a focus on cancer. Medical Students Working with Local Physicians

Family physicians in eight Illinois communities are hosting students from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine January 3 – January 27. The students are participating in the school’s Family Medicine Preceptorship Program. The experience provides an opportunity for students to use their medical knowledge in an office setting under the supervision of an experienced physician. The students choose from more than 160 family practice physicians in Illinois for their preceptorship experience.
