CITI Protection of Human Subjects Training

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIUSOM) relies on the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative Program (CITI) to host SCRIHS Protection of Human Subjectstraining. Completing this curriculum is required before research personnel can engage in research activities that are overseen by SCRIHS.  Also offered is Good Clinical Practice (GCP) curriculum.  GCP training is not required by SCRIHS; however, study sponsors and funding agencies do require it.  The CITI GCP training is accepted by most sponsors and funding agencies.

Visit the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) and register for an account and complete SCRIHS Protection of Human Subjects Training.

Once training is completed, it is valid for three years. To renew Human Subject Protections training, users will be required to retake the CITI Protection of Human Subjects course.

Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Conflict of Interest (COI) training modules are both available options in the SIU School of Medicine, CITI curriculum portfolio.

If you have questions or need assistance navigating the CITI website, please contact SCRIHS staff.
