Women in Medicine and Science Professional Development Conference 2019

The Alliance for Women and Medicine and Science and Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion hosted the second annual Women in Medicine and Science Professional Development conference on Friday, June 14 in the MCLI. Dean and Provost Dr. Jerry Kruse kicked off the conference with an uplifting speech on the importance of groups such as AWIMS in an institution. Women's Health Center Rural Health Designation Changes

SIU Medicine’s Women’s Health Center at 610 North Westgate, Jacksonville, IL 62650 will no longer be designated as a Rural Health Clinic in the Medicare program (Title XVIII of the Social Security Act) effective March 1, 2021. The Rural Health agreement between the SIU Women’s Health Center and the Secretary of Health and Human Services was terminated on March 1, 2021 in accordance with the provisions of the Social Security Act. Women's Power Lunch Features Author, Cancer Survivor Donna Hartley

The 2018 Women’s Power Lunch Against Cancer is scheduled for Friday, April 27, and will feature Donna Hartley, a “Chicken Soup for the Soul” writer and author of the “Fire Up” book series and “Healing Meditation Insights.” Proceeds from the event will benefit cancer research at Simmons Cancer Institute at Southern Illinois University Medicine in Springfield. The 2017 Women’s Power Lunch Against Cancer will feature Karen Mills , comedian and ovarian cancer survivor. Proceeds from the event will benefit all cancer research at Simmons Cancer Institute at Southern Illinois University Medicine in Springfield.
