SIU GME Quality Improvement Poster Symposium and Competition
The SIU Graduate Medical Education Committee in collaboration with the 2024 Research Symposia, is proud to present the SIU SOM Quality Improvement Poster Symposium and Competition. The 2023-2024 SIU QI Poster Symposium and Competition is scheduled for April 16, 2024, from 11:00a to 12:30pm in the Pearson Museum. This event will publicly recognize the quality improvement projects that are being done by SIU SOM residents and fellows. Monetary awards will be given for the top three Quality Improvement projects:
- First place = $250
- Second place = $150
- Third place = $100
An additional "Innovation Award" may be given for the project that most demonstrates "out of the box thinking" or creative approach to successfully implement innovative quality improvement with demonstrated outcomes.
- Innovation Award = $150
To be eligible for consideration, submitted projects must show initiative and commitment applied to improving systems and processes that directly and indirectly improve patient safety and quality of healthcare delivery.
The competition is open to any SIU SOM resident/fellow, who is a current trainee at the time of their submission. All submissions will be reviewed and judged by a panel of SIU SOM faculty and hospital administrators that possess expertise in and are passionate about quality improvement.
Judging criteria will be based on Standards for Quality Improvement Reporting Excellence (SQUIRE) guidelines.
