New Elective Course Offering Options

ALL SIU School of Medicine Faculty are invited to submit applications for new Elective courses for inclusion in the Elective Program Catalog. Pathways for medical specialties have been developed by many departments to assist students and their advisors in designing appropriate schedules to prepare them for entry into a residency program in their chosen field. In addition to the Pathways model, the EPC and the Year Four Curriculum Committee approved the requirement for students to take at least 4 weeks of basic science coursework. June 25 SIU School Wide Orientation

Pharmacology Memorial Awards Ceremony 2019

Dr. Satu Somani was one of the three original faculty members of the SIU School of Medicine Department of Pharmacology and a dedicated scientist/educator. He loved teaching, often asking for more time to teach additional material he felt was important to the student’s medical education. Dr. Somani passed in 2002, and to honor his memory, a fund was established to provide a monetary award annually to an outstanding student of Medical Pharmacology.
