Evaluation of Program

Program directors may receive feedback about their program via a variety of instruments. The ACGME Resident Survey is administered directly by the ACGME to residents. As long as programs have four or more residents respond and have 70% or greater participation, they receive aggregate feedback and national data for comparison. These are administered between February and April of any calendar year and results are released to all programs in May or June. See also the Survey section of this manual. ACGME Annual Surveys: ACGME Surveys are conducted annually between February and April by the ACGME. Faculty and trainees are surveyed online on a number of program-specific requirements. These surveys are an additional method used by the ACGME to monitor graduate medical education and provide early warning of potential non-compliance with ACGME accreditation standards. All specialty and subspecialty programs (regardless of size) are required to participate in these surveys each academic year. There must be a program letter of agreement (PLA) between the program and each participating site (outside of the Sponsoring Institution) that governs the relationship between the program and the site providing a required assignment.
