Books: The division purchases the required dermatology, dermatopathology, and dermatologic surgery textbooks for each resident. Schedule Our program includes three residents per year. PGY-1 The preliminary year with SIU Internal Medicine includes rotations in general internal medicine and multiple subspecialty areas, including dermatology. Our internal medicine colleagues are known for their interest in teaching and excellent patient care. Our dermatology PGY-1 residents have the opportunity to spend 3 half-days once a month on their “Y” week in our clinic, and they rotate through a teledermatology clinic as well as our general dermatology clinics. Theodore R. LeBlang, J.D., FCLM Emeritus Professor of Law and Medicine About Mr. LeBlang is Emeritus Professor of Law and Medicine at Southern Illinois University (SIU) Schools of Medicine and Law. During the period 1993-2006, Mr. LeBlang served as professor and chair of the medical school’s Department of Medical Humanities. He was also director of the Program of Law and Medicine and founding director of the M.D.-J.D. Dual Degree Program. From 1975-92, Mr. LeBlang served as legal counsel to SIU School of Medicine.
