The Illinois Rural Health Association selected Sharon Smaga, MD, professor of family medicine in Carbondale, to receive a 2017 Physician of Excellence Award. The award is presented to doctors who have made a significant impact on the health of communities and shown dedication toward improving access to care in medically underserved areas of the state. SIU Urology welcomes Dr. Nicholas Tadros to the faculty. Dr. Tadros joins us most recently from the Cleveland Clinic, where he completed specialized training in reproductive medicine. Dr. Tadros earned his medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. He then completed a general surgery and urology residency at Oregon Health and Science University as well. During that time, he also completed a research fellowship and received a master of clinical research. He finished a Male Infertility and Men's Health Fellow at the Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute
