Current open positions at the Dale and Deborah Smith Center for Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment:

Researcher I, II, or III (SMS-3228)

Position Function: This position will support and conduct research related to Alzheimer's disease, other neurological disorders, and aging in the Hascup Neuroscience Laboratories. Specific duties will be commiserate with Researcher Classification level (Researcher I, II, or III).

Minimum qualifications: 

Researcher I
  1. BA/BS degree in an appropriate biological field; AND
  2. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented and minority populations.
 
Researcher II
  1. MA/MS degree; OR
  2. BA/BS degree and at least two (2) years' relevant experience; AND
  3. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented and minority populations.
 
Researcher III
  1. MA/MS degree in an appropriate field and at least two (2) years' relevant experience; OR
  2. BA/BS degree and a minimum of six (6) years' experience in relevant field; AND
  3. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented and minority populations.

Associate Professor or Professor of Clinical Neurology (SMS-3032)

Position Function: This position will have knowledge and practical skills in the diagnosis and care of patients with dementia. This faculty member will provide specialized care for patients with dementia and related disorders and will be responsible for teaching the discipline to medical students and residents. The faculty member will have knowledge and experience to be an expert content source and mentor for more junior providers. The faculty member will also be expected to maintain a clinical practice at the forefront of best practices and develop a research program in the area of dementia and neurodegenerative disease.

Minimum Qualifications: Board eligible or board certified in neurology and completion of at least one year of fellowship training or equivalent experience in dementia or behavioral neurology, including experience in translational research. Clinical and Academic accomplishments appropriate for appointment as Associate Professor. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.

Desired Qualifications: The successful candidate will be a licensed physician and neurologist with special expertise in dementia and/or behavioral neurology, and a strong record of research productivity.

Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology (SMS-2729)

Position Function: This position will provide specialized care for patients with dementia and related disorders and will be responsible for teaching this discipline to medical students and residents. The faculty member will develop a research program in translational sciences in the areas of dementia and neurodegenerative disease.

Minimum Qualifications: Board eligible or board certified in neurology and completion of at least one year of fellowship training or equivalent in dementia or behavioral neurology, including experience in translational research. Faculty member must be a licensed physician and neurologist with special expertise in dementia and/or behavioral neurology. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.

Desired Qualifications: The successful candidate will be a licensed physician and neurologist with special expertise in dementia and/or behavioral neurology.
