E. Shannon Stauffer, MD Spring Lectureship

Overview Dr. E. Shannon Stauffer was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on June 30, 1931. He attended Temple University Medical School, graduating in 1959. He did his orthopedic residency at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellowship in orthopedic rehabilitation at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in Downey, California. Dr. Stauffer practiced in Los Angeles until 1975, at which time he came to Springfield to become the Founding Chairman of the Division of Orthopedics as well as the Residency Program Director. For twenty years, he was Director of the Spine Fellowship Program, which he founded

E. Shannon Stauffer Spring Visiting Professor

The 41st Annual E. Shannon Stauffer Spring Visiting Professor Lecture will be held Friday, June 21 from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Memorial Learning Center Room 2B. This annual event celebrates the legacy of the founding chair of the Division of Orthopedics, Dr. E. Shannon Stauffer and features a visiting professor lecture and resident presentations. This year's visiting professor is Dr. Richard Laughlin, a Foot and Ankle Trauma and Reconstructive surgeon with the University of Connecticut. CME credit is available - see flyer.

Early Stage Memory Loss Program

Prepare for the road ahead. Learn how to cope with memory loss. The Early Stage Memory Loss Program is an annual supportive group seminar series for individuals with early stage memory loss and their care partners. Sessions are led by Smith Alzheimer's Center at SIU Medicine professionals, and feature expert information and advice for both persons with memory loss and their families. At each meeting, the group meets for an educational session followed by separate support group sessions, one for persons with memory loss and one for family caregivers. Who can participate?
