General Goals: The goal of the echo lab rotation is to develop competence in the performance and interpretation of all the different modalities of echocardiography. This should be achieved in a logical step-wise approach of increasing complexity and depth of knowledge. The Department of Medical Humanities offers a curriculum designed to provide students with a core knowledge in the humanities, emphasizing application of the content and methodologies of humanities disciplines to the practice of medicine. Department faculty provide educational experiences for undergraduate medical students during Years 1 and 2. During Year 3, the Department delivers a one-week curricular clerkship, entitled "The Physician-Patient Relationship," as well as multiple integrated modules and learning experiences that form part of the clinical clerkships.
