Match Day is one of the most exciting dates on the school calendar. It's the day each year when the National Resident Matching Program is announced nationwide. SIU 4th-year medical students will learn their residency training destinations at 11 a.m. on March 17 at the Memorial Learning Center, 228 W Miller St, Springfield. It's the most eagerly anticipated day in a medical student's journey to becoming a doctor! The National Match Program announcement occurs at 11 AM, Friday, March 15, in the Memorial Learning Center's Nelson Family Auditorium, 228 West Miller St. SIU's fourth-year medical students will learn where they will be going for their residency training, the beginning of their professional careers. The event will be livestreamed in the South Auditorium, 801 North Rutledge, beginning at 10:15 AM, as well as on Facebook.
Medical students in the Class of 2025 will discover the residency program matches for their next phase of training on Match Day. The fourth-years and their families will begin gathering at the Memorial Learning Center's Nelson Family Conference Room at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21. Students will open their match results together promptly at 11 a.m. About 43,000 medical students across the U.S. will simultaneously open the envelopes containing the results of the 2025 National Residency Match Program. A live stream of the event begins at 10:30 a.m.
