Coles County Students Preview Health Careers

Research indicates a potential physician shortage could occur in the U.S. within the next decade. A new program in Coles County aims to combat that trend by boosting interest in medical careers during high school. Students from Charleston, Mattoon and Oakland High Schools, as well as many homeschooled students, have met monthly since September to learn from health care professionals in the region. Color of Health Fashion Show Casting Call

Model Casting Call Colors of Health Fashion Show Friday, September 6, 2024 Hoogland Center for the Arts Showtime from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Models will work with with a modeling trainer and stylist to strut for better health. Funds raised will benefit a local charity that highlights the AWIMS 2024 focus. Models will be selected to be a part of a fashion show that brings awareness to health matters that have a significant impact on women. Colorectal Fit-Kit Distribution

Colorectal at-home cancer screening kit distribution. Use our easy "drive-thru" to pick up your free colorectal screening kit. Enter the drive and stay in your vehicle. We will bring your kit to you. The kit contains instructions and supplies for participants to collect a stool sample. Return completed kits via a postage-paid envelope. Test results will be sent by mail in three to four weeks. *Kits will be available while supplies last and must be returned within 10 days of pickup.
