SIU School of Medicine received the distinguished status “Accreditation with Commendation” from the Accrediting Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME ®) as a provider of continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. Citation-Free for Second Consecutive Term The Southern Illinois University School of Medicine has received full accreditation for another eight years from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). The committee had no areas of concern to report. SIU School of Medicine will celebrate a historic milestone honoring the Class of 1975—its first graduating class—at their 50-year reunion on June 21. They will offer tribute with the launch of a Legion of Legacies.

SIU School of Medicine unveiled the 2024 edition of SCOPE at an awards reception April 12. The student-produced literary magazine contains short stories, poems and artwork from learners, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the school.
