Carbondale is a city of 25,000 near the southern tip of Illinois, in a beautiful region known as “Little Egypt” – close to the Mississippi River and on the edge of the Shawnee National Forest. Remembering Shirley We are pleased to showcase our newst endowed scholarship: the Endowed Shirley J. McGlinn Memorial Scholarship Fund. Many of our alumni will remember Mrs. McGlinn as a longtime biology instructor for MEDPREP, much beloved by all who knew her. Shirley received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from St. Mary’s College in Leavenworth, Kansas, and a Master’s Degree in Zoology from SIU Carbondale. MEDPREP students, faculty, family and friends are invited to to the 21st annual Shirley J. McGlinn Milestone Ceremony, taking place on Sunday August 27 at 4 p.m. in Guyon Auditorium of Morris Library on the SIU Carbondale campus. MEDPREP student drive nets 13K hygiene products for women in corrections

SIU MEDPREP students delivered more than 13,000 feminine hygiene products to Springfield on March 19 for women housed in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
