SIU would like to congratulate department of Surgery's Dr. John Mellinger on being selected as a HSHS St. John's Hospital Physican of the Year . This award honors a physician who consistently reflects the hospital's core values - respect, care, competence and joy. Nominations came from members of the medical staff. Dr. Mellinger was given his award on April 1 at a physician appreciation event at Illini Country Club.
Memorial Health and SIU Medicine have announced plans to transition the urgent care clinic at Memorial Care on North Dirksen Parkway to a federally qualified health center (FQHC) administered by SIU Medicine this summer.
