Sibling Play Lab

The Play Lab is led by Lisabeth DiLalla, PhD, a developmental psychologist at the SIU School of Medicine, and is home of the Southern Illinois Twins, Triplets and Siblings Study (SITSS). The lab focuses on preschoolers and the development of peer interactions and parent-child interactions from early childhood through adolescence.There are several research projects underway at the Lab. The SITSS primarily focuses on preschoolers, with various projects encompassing the development of peer interactions and parent-child interactions from preschool through adolescence.

Side-by-side Wellness

Classes and programs are held in-person and virtually. Cancer patients, survivors and/or caregivers can attend classes at no cost, regardless of where they are receiving treatment. No registration is necessary. To receive links for virtual classes, please email simmons@siumed.edu . Monday and Wednesday classes Pilates 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Pilates emphasizes maintaining the natural spinal curves while strengthening the core muscles and teaching students proper stabilization and alignment of all joints. Simmons Cancer Institute accepting research internship applications

Applications for the 2022 summer lab internships at Simmons Cancer Institute (SCI) at Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine are being accepted through March 7. Four positions will be awarded on a competitive basis to qualified undergraduate college students who plan a career in medicine or research with a focus on cancer. Established in 2009, the paid internship program provides hands-on experience for college undergraduates. It is funded through Denim & Diamonds, the cancer institute’s annual gala to benefit cancer research, patient programs and needs of SCI’s patient
