Surveys

ACGME Annual Surveys: ACGME Surveys are conducted annually between February and April by the ACGME. Faculty and trainees are surveyed online on a number of program-specific requirements. These surveys are an additional method used by the ACGME to monitor graduate medical education and provide early warning of potential non-compliance with ACGME accreditation standards. All specialty and subspecialty programs (regardless of size) are required to participate in these surveys each academic year. Surviving Cancer: It Takes a Village

Simmons Cancer Institute hosts 15th annual cancer symposium Simmons Cancer Institute (SCI) at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine will hold its 15th annual symposium, “Surviving Cancer: It Takes a Village,” on Friday, Sept. 16 at Memorial Center for Learning and Innovation, 228 W. Miller St., Springfield. The conference is designed for physicians and health care professionals interested in the care of cancer patients. Survivor Recovery Center helps trauma victims heal

By Aren Dow: On the opposite wall of Sicely Kluge’s office, past the dinosaurs and the art supplies, hangs the starting point for many of her patients’ sessions: the snack center. It looks like one of those over-the-door shoe organizers – about five feet tall with pockets in rows – but instead of shoes, there are fruit snacks and juice boxes tucked inside, the ideal comfort food for her 5- to 17-year-old patients.
