SIU Medical Library operates from 8am-6pm, Monday through Friday, for all patrons: students, faculty, staff, residents, research fellows, and public users. For specific patron groups, the Medical Library provides 24/7 access for after-hours studying.

27th Annual Wound Care Symposium

The Institute for Plastic Surgery at SIU School of Medicine is pleased to announce the 27th Annual Wound Care Symposium on March 17, 2022. This year’s event will be held in-person at the IEA Professional Development Center located at 3440 Liberty Drive, Springfield, Illinois from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Wound Care Symposium is offered as an educational opportunity for healthcare providers in the area, especially nursing professionals. Speakers include Dr. Michael Neumeister, internationally recognized plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and SIU Department of Surgery Chair.

29th Annual Trainee Research Symposium

Department of Medicine Faculty, Fellows and Residents: Congratulations to our residents and fellows who represented the Department of Medicine extremely well today, April 23rd, 2019, at the SIU SOM Trainee Research Symposium. Of the 63 oral and poster presentations, 22 were from the Department of Medicine. Our trainees did a remarkable job of presenting clinical vignettes and hypothesis-driven research in the form of oral presentations and posters. 29th Annual Trainee Research Symposium

On April 26, 2019 graduate and medical students from SIU-SOM traveled to SIU Carbondale to participate in the 29th Annual Trainee Research Symposium. Asmita Dhukhwa (Pharmacology), a graduate student in Dr. Vickram Ramkumar’s laboratory, received 1st Place for her oral presentation “Inhibition of Regulator of G-Protein Signaling 17 Alleviates Cisplatin Otoxicity by Enhancing Otoprotective G-Protein Coupled Receptor” in the Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Fellow Division.
