Why did you choose this program: I thought it would provide an experience that would be similar and applicable to my future career. SIU's program also reached out to my school to give us advice on away rotations and applications since we did not have a home program, which showed me that they do things for the benefit of those around them even if it isn't required. I was also really impressed by the medical simulation capabilities and skills labs, which I think are critical as we progress forward in how we approach medical education.

Favorite things to do in Springfield: I have only been here a short time but I enjoyed the Presidential Library and Museum when I visit. It is very well put together. I think I will find myself sampling some of the nicer restaurants around the area soon.
